Two new themes from the Master Themer Tehk 7 have surfaced this past week, both of which look amazing on the N97. The two themes are inspired from other devices, the first being the HTC Hero and the second none other than Nokia’s own upcoming N900.
The HTC Hero runs on Android OS and Tehk has done a really nice job replicating the default theme. Check out the shots below showing a head-to-head comparison between the HTC Hero’s homescreen and my N97’s.

Also, check out this pic for various screenshots. Notice the iconset which Tehk uses; it features some really nice icons like the cool-looking bird for Gravity and the calculator with a 7 digit for the calc application, a very nice touch indeed.

The second theme is the default theme that comes with the N900 running Maemo 5; again, Tehk has done some major work to make your device really feel like it’s running Maemo. Notice the bottom onscreen “soft-keys” for the N97 are totally transparent, so whatever wallpaper you put behind them will only be covered by their labels in white font.

Tehkseven has also uploaded the 4 original wallpapers of the N900 dark blue theme (the second theme has an orange tint and maybe Tehk could replicate that as well) so you can use them with your device. Note that for the N97, you have to either rotate the wallpapers or browse tehkseven.net’s library for them where they have already been optimized for use on S60 5th edition devices.

In order to download those two cool themes as well as thousands of other amazing stuff for your devices (wallpapers, themes, and ringtones) log on to www.tehkseven.net and register for a free account. You can then log onto the website from your PC or your device for direct downloads.
Over 1,7 million members are already enjoying stuff from there so step on it and register fast.
Both themes are free, so go ahead, grab them!
I've already switched to the N900 theme on my N97; it makes my device look a lot better now and tricks me into thinking I actually HAVE the N900, for a very brief while. This helps soothe the pain while I wait for the N900 to arrive... Thanks Tehk, keep 'em coming!

I sure will. Just need to get my hands on a retail unit, not a proto :) I'll definitely have fun doing that as it's a totally new platform for me, unlike Symbian which I've grown accustomed to.
