I can say unequivocally that this is one of the WORST handsets I have had the misfortune to deal with. Every single one of my colleagues have complained about it and some have simply returned it back to me.<br /><br />There are several reasons for this:<br />1. Shocking battery life. It makes iPhones and Android phones look like powerhouses (and yes I have double checked all the sync/power settings).<br /><br />2. Navigating the email &amp; calendar system is S.L.O.W. You literally end up waiting for 5 seconds for every action (open email, replying, sending, deleting, etc). That might not sound like much, but when that&#39;s happening each &amp; every time and you&#39;re working through 50 or 60 emails, that all adds up. And again, compared to other smart phones, it feels steam-powered in comparison.<br /><br />3. It does random things like removing to-do dates from Outlook, even when I hard reset a device and tell it not to sync to-do notes.<br /><br />4. Maps &amp; GPS is incredibly slow too. I would trust this to get me across the street, let alone across the country.<br /><br />There are far, far more issues but these are probably the biggest. The buttons are not that wide but they give nice tactile feedback and have a nice domed design. This makes it easy to type. I got beef with the lack of IR on the E72. I own an Alphasmart Neo - a portable word processor that uses 3xDurecells and lasts for 700 hours before pooping out. Yes, 700 hours. Unfortunately the Neo beams files to a PC/device via IR, otherwise I&#39;m stuck using USB and cables. I nearly bought the Nokia E71 just for the IR compatability, but in the end I purchased the E72 instead. Before this, I&#39;m using E71. I loves using E71 more then E72 because the phone performance much better in terms of phone hanging and crash.<br /><br />Using E72, I cannot open more than 3 applications (such as Opera Mobile, GMail, Messaging, EBuddy, Fring etc) at the same time. It automatically close any application which use more memory. When I use GMobileXT (Garmin) for navigation, it close automatically after 10 minutes drive. I have to re-open the application. The reason why I use Garmin is because the map is more detail than Ovi Maps. Garmin works fine when using E71.<br /><br />For your information, I already updated the firmware version to 023.002 and this does not help. I&#39;m still waiting for latest FW and hope that the latest one will solve the low memory problem.<br /><br />Other than this 2 issues (cannot open more then 3 applications at the same time and automatic close GMobileXT), I have no problems using E72.<br /><br />All my friends (11 of them) who already use E72 got the same problem as I am. <br /><br />I switched back to E71 because I&#39;m travelling a lot and use Garmin for navigation.
